Restricted Access, or A2 as it is more commonly known, is a way for riders aged under 24 to obtain their full motorcycle licence. This is the same as DAS except you are restricted by the size of bike you can ride dependent on your age.
Please note: You must have a valid CBT (or 2 years A2 licence) and have passed your Motorcycle theory test in order to obtain this licence.
Restricted Access comprises of two training modules, both of which are tested.
Module 1 is carried out at our training facility and is a specified off-road manoeuvres test. Module 2 is road riding test.
Bike hire and insurance is included when you book your training with us. We also have a selection of gloves, jackets and helmets for you to use, however please bring your own if you have them.
It is possible to bring your own bike to the test but please bring proof of insurance and valid M.O.T. with you.
On successful completion of your training you will receive your full Motorcycle licence which allows you to ride a bike on a public road up to the max size for your age. You may also carry passengers and ride on motorways.
Courses start at 9am and finish at 2pm.
One of the days will consists of module 1 training in the DVSA test site so trainees can train where test is conducted. This allows for high first time pass rate, as if you don't pass module 1 you cant continue to module 2.
We usually stop for cuppa and bite to eat when we're out and about.
The training takes place at 8 North Harbour St, Ayr KA8 8AA.
Please arrive before 9:00am.
This will vary and is very much dependent on your level of competence and skill. Our assessors will observe and advise based on what they see.
